Why Indian Civilization has many forms of God..??
Traditionally, Indians believe that every soul has a journey which goes on beyond one life time. The concept of reincarnation indicates that every soul keeps on taking births and births till it’s ultimate purpose of life is achieved.
During this journey, a soul keeps on accumulating various good as well as difficult experiences. These experiences get imprinted somewhere in it’s very nature and as a result Karmic ‘Sanskaars’ are formed. These Sanskaars form our true nature as a human being. As every individual soul has had unique experiences over different lives, every individual is unique in terms of it’s likes, dislikes, aspirations and the way of thinking.
Indians on the other hand also give a great importance to the bond with the Divinity. Worship with true emotions and connection has always been the part of Indian tradition. Therefore, It becomes extremely important how strongly you are associated with a specific form of Divinity.
With the unique nature, it might be difficult for every individual to have same strong bond with a single form of Divinity. Thus in order to create that strong connection, the Sages of Indian civilization suggested the ultimate freedom to choose his/ her form of Divine with whom you can relate and connect comfortably. This way of thinking motivated all individuals including great sages to conceptualize their own form of God and establish the connection which help them to achieve their ultimate purpose of life.
